Booth Bay Sailboat Decorative Pillow
- Typical pattern from either Maine (thus the name Booth Bay) or from one of the Canadian Maritime Provinces. Early rug hookers would take ideas from what they saw around them. On the coast of Maine, you would see a sail boat at sea, a simple log cabin with smoke coming from its chimney, a pine tree, etc. The alternating square boxes between the boats and trees are basic “hit or miss patterns”. The early rug hookers realized that they could use scraps of material (even old clothing!) to fill these spaces. However, this “hit or miss pattern” turned out to be a great way to fill the voids between pictorial designs. NCU333A, NCU333B, and NCU333C look great just by themselves or placed all together as a set. The companion rug is H632. NCU333A Booth Bay Sailboat.
